1st third
Cold draw is hay and red pepper. Upon light is dry wood and cedar. Some cream and white chocolate enter the party.
2nd third
Continuing cedar and cream. The dry wood has transitioned into a charred flavor. Some light pepper, hay and salt also present themselves.
Final 3rd
Wood is present in both regular and charred form. Salt is still there and just when I thought the profile was set in it's ways, it hits he with the Monster Mash of flavors. Coffee, light mint and cinnamon come as a nice surprise to balance out the pretty wood forward first 3/4.
Final Thoughts
As stated above, this cigar was really wood forward, but it was multiple types and there was always some salt or sweetness to balance the wood flavors so that it didn't get too one note or boring.
Complexity and Transitions 18/20
There was definitely a decent amount of complexity, but with a good flavor backbone. My only gripe is that there was a pretty long stretch that the flavors went mostly unchanged. The first and last inch of the stick were definitely the Jamie Lee Curtis like star of this production.
Draw 19/20
Just slightly on the tight side.
Burn 18/20
It was anywhere from wavy and uneven to pretty straight. Anytime it got close to needing a touch up it would correct itself just enough not to.
Wrapper Construction 9/10
One slightly raised seam and some small tight veins. The raised seam didn’t end up coming up anymore or effecting the burn at all.
Value 4/5
The real MSRP is ~$13. I actually paid $10.50 at one of my local B&M's. Had the MSRP been that, I would have went 5/5 for value. For $13 and a slightly quick burn time for the Vitola with some burn issues, I’ll give it a solid 4 in the value category.
